Monte Nour dropped out of Sweden's prestigious Royal college of music to focus on his songwriting. Four months later he put out his first release, hailing classic masters of the songwriting craft such as Paul McCartney, Joni Michell, Ron Sexsmith, Nick Drake as well as grittier rock gems Broder Daniel from his native Sweden.

2016 saw the release of the debut EP "Into The Light" (Youth Recordings) - a dramatic indie pop journey with baroque influences, recorded in one-takes in the middle of rural Värmland where he grew up.

The follow-up "Hiding In The Heart" came out in the spring of 2017 and presented a darker, more mysterious side of Monte Nour's songwriting, recorded on a 4-track cassette tape Porta studio, incorporating melodic instrumentals plucked on acoustic guitar in the style of Roy Harper and more contemporary guitar heroes like Ryley Walker and William Tyler. Since 2016 he’s been touring both solo and sometimes with a four piece band backing him up onstage.
